Hello August

I didn't intend to take a blogging break but it happened. Life + 2 jobs got in the way the last few weeks. It's wedding season so my little business is doing great - better than I expected. We did escape life for a little while ago when we went to sit on the beach. We went to a new beach down by Dana Point that we had not been to yet. Here are a couple photos I took with the new camera. I am still learning but it's so fun.

Having fun with the timer feature

I have a created a new line of sea life/nautical table numbers. A customer had asked for some designs to match the wave place cards she purchased. I am so happy she asked because they turned out great.

Yogi: Before and After photos

Yogi was really in need of hair cut. I get him groomed about every 3 months. I thought it would be fun to show the before and after. It's like getting a new dog every time - he shrinks in size. He has a little difference personality once he get grooms. He seems to have a skip in his step (I think its because he knows he looks good - haha).

Before - crazy hair but I love it
Helmet head

After - Ready for a walk around the block

Having fun with a new rope toy

DIY: Baking Gift Basket

This whole project was based off two wood cooking spoons. I found them on etsy at simplyprettyprints. I knew they would make the perfect gift for my friend/coworker who was getting married. Then I thought - how to gift them? That is when I thought of creating a baking gift basket.I gathered all my supplies and made this quick and simple fun gift.

All the supplies out and ready to go

I played around with how best everything would fit in the basket. I was able to fit everything in the basket except one cake mix. I also added red tissue paper for a little fun.

I used a large red bag to wrap the basket but it was too big so I taped the sides around the basket with clear tape. I then added a fun ribbon and tag I made that matched the spoons.

I punched a hole in tag and just string through the ribbon.
Contents of basket:
Wooden Spoons
Basket from Joanns
Ice cream cone cookie cutter
Fun flower cupcake liners
All baking supplies are from Betty Crocker
Red bag from Michales
Ribbon - I had on hand
Tag - handmade by yours truly

Surprise flowers

I came home from work on Thursday night exhausted from the day. I started talking with Larry and after a few minutes I looked over by the tv and saw these beautiful flowers. I said flowers when did they get there? Larry had said they had been there I just didn't notice them when I got home. I normally "notice" things right away but since I was tired I didn't see them right away. It was a very nice surprise, I am pretty lucky girl.

Palm Springs

I finally decided on a new camera I purchased this one from amazon, I love it. I am still learning all the features but the photos I have taken look much crisper and clean.

Canon EOS Rebel T3 12.2 MP CMOS Digital SLR

I brought it along to our quick trip to the desert last weekend. Larry had the weekend off so we headed over to Rancho Mirage (Palm Springs area) to relax for a couple of days. It was 117 degrees on Saturday. Yes you read that correctly 117 outside. It was hot and the pool was great.
